The text of the
famous Slavonic-Russian manuscript: The Menaion of May (XIth c.) known as
"Putatia's Menaion"is published - on the May 1-10, by a computer
font, according to the manuscript "leaf to leaf", with maintenance of
the verse lines, synoptic with the parallel Greek text.
Russian
interlinear translation is given as a method of understanding the text.
The analysis and
interpretation of meaning differences between Slavonic and Greek is in the
center of the research apparatus.
The Putatia's Menaion
as a genre of medieval liturgical literature is put in a large context of the
biblical and all-cultural connections.
